Kate says: "I signed up to Weight Wins very early on. At the time I was in denial about just how much weight I had put on over the years. When I learned about their unique approach I thought it was definitely worth trying; there was nothing to lose and everything to gain - a new slim me and money to spend!

And it worked for me. The targets were manageable and helped me focus on losing weight gradually and sensibly Having to go once a month and be formally weighed gave me a real incentive to hit that month’s target - after all it was only about 5 - 6 lbs and surely I could do this. I got to know the pharmacist who weighed me quite well and she took a real interest in my progress, and was really supportive.

Stephen says: "The ad in the paper definitely got my attention, but I didn’t join straight away. I looked around and found that Weight Wins is for real, and it’s quite well thought out. It offered me more than a quick buck – it gave me a reason to change my habits for good. I joined a few weeks later and I was on my way.

I was a little unsure about my first weigh-in at my local Boots. It couldn’t have been easier, and the pharmacy lady was really interested in the scheme. I quickly got into the swing of the monthly cycle: download and print off my weight certificate, watch my weight for a few days, and weigh in - it takes about 15 minutes a month- a lot less than a visit to the gym!

I haven’t had any big problems weighing in. I just smile and say please. One month I was travelling and I called Weight Wins to find a place to weigh-in; they were very nice and helpful.

I lost most of my weight eating a low-carb meal plan, with some exercise. It got harder as I approached my target weight but those weigh-ins made the difference for me by keeping me on track. Once I reached my target weight, I gradually moved onto a balanced diet.  Again, the monthly weigh-ins in the ‘maintenance’ period kept me honest.

Two years on I’m still on Weight Wins (in my second plan) and hitting most of my monthly targets. When I finish my plan in a few months I expect to collect over £1,000. I’m going to spend it on some clothes to fit my new size and something nice for my girlfriend who has been such support. I recommend the programme to anyone who is serious about solving their problem for good – in fact I’m going to get both my parents to join."
